On 3 October, we were at Farnborough Sixth Form College for The Prospect Trust staff inset day to run two workshops as part of their carousel, with different groups of teachers rotating through sessions. We led on AI and disinformation and AI and student voice.
The disinformation session focused on critical thinking, where looked at practical ways teachers can help students evaluate sources and navigate truth when AI makes fabrication easy. We had some fascinating discussions about where to start and what's actually achievable in the classroom.
For the student voice session, Youyue from our ever inspiring Student Council joined us. Having a student in the room changed the conversation entirely because teachers got to hear directly how students actually use GenAI, both academically and socially. We also explored areas where school policies connect with reality versus where they miss completely.
This work is what Good Future Foundation is built for. We're a charity, so we can come into any school or trust in the UK, run professional development sessions like these and offer practical next steps to implementation. There's never anything to buy because we have nothing to sell schools. Just genuine support for educators trying to navigate this space.
