In September, two members of our Student Council, Conrado and Emily, travelled to Paris to represent young people’s voices at UNESCO Digital Learning Week. Alongside our collaborators from the Department for Education and AIEOU at the University of Oxford, they spoke at UNESCO Headquarters to reflect on the impact of this year’s AI Summer School and make the case for why young people should have a meaningful role in shaping the AI systems that will influence their lives.

We are bringing together the GFF community from around the world in one place to share stories, challenge assumptions, and imagine new possibilities for AI in education together. Over three carefully crafted days, we'll explore the human side of AI in education through student hackathons, school visits, practitioner workshops, and yes - even a rap battle between AI thought leaders!

Young people today are swimming in content and not all of it is what it seems. Deepfakes, AI-generated images and disinformation are easier than ever to create and just as easy to stumble across, whether in a group chat, on a social media feed or shared casually between friends. It's not a question of if your students will encounter them, but when. And when a student comes to you with one of these concerns, you want to feel ready.

We're grateful to everyone who gave their time to be part of our programme at the Festival of Education. People openly shared what they’re still uncertain about, questioned their own thinking, and acknowledged that the field is still finding its feet when it comes to effective and responsible AI use in education. Bringing 40 young people together for a fully funded residential week has been one of the most rewarding things we've done this year. Over eight days, they xplored artificial intelligence, education, ethics and the future of work while building friendships and memories that will last far beyond this week.

On 30 June 2026, Good Future Foundation supported part of a two day event organised by the Diocese of Westminster. We had the privilege to talk about what AI means for education with a truly inspiring delegation who brought thoughtful discussion and some deep, challenging questions.

It was a real pleasure to spend the afternoon with headteachers and school leaders at the Milton Keynes City Council Headteacher Conference, delivering two workshops on AI.

Our Executive Director, Daniel, was at the Digital Conference at the National STEM Learning Centre in York on 26th June 2026 to speak about AI, curriculum, assessment, product safety and the need to protect thinking in education.

Daniel closed the Confederation of School Trusts’ Data and Digital Transformation Conference 2026 in Birmingham on 18 June 2026, where trust leaders and digital practitioners spent the day exploring what it takes to embed digital practice at scale. It was a timely and thoughtful gathering, and we’re glad to play a part in conversations that are shaping how the sector moves forward.

This year's AI Summer School applications were so impressive we expanded our bursary from 30 to 40 students. We're also excited to be collaborating with AI in Education at Oxford University, running parallel summer schools with a daily intergenerational exchange between young people and educators.

AI doesn't stop at the school gate. And when things go wrong, it shows up in your school. On 15 July, Good Future Foundation and the PSHE Association are bringing together Safeguarding, PSHE, and Pastoral Leads for a free, practical, scenario-led day built around exactly this challenge.

We're excited to share that Good Future Foundation has been selected for the Department for Education's AI Content Store Advanced Support Programme. This summer, we're launching an updated version of Good Future AI that connects teachers with curriculum-aligned content and we're looking for educators to be among the first to try it.

Our experience working with schools beyond the UK tells us that the principles of responsible, thoughtful AI implementation transcend borders. And we are excited to share that Good Future Foundation is partnering with Eleva to bring AI Quality Mark to schools Latin America.

A huge congratulations to our incredible community of schools as we’ve now celebrated over 100 AI Quality Mark awards! Their collective efforts are leading the way in how schools approach AI, developing best practices that benefit the entire education sector.

This is a one-week residential programme with full bursaries for 30 students aged 14-17 who are eager to dig deeper into AI to understand how they can use it and help shape its future responsibly.

We're partnering with The MakersPlace and ICS Ghana to support more schools and educators in Ghana on responsible AI adoption. This partnership is an exciting step forward as we establish Ghana as a potential hub supporting similar AI education initiatives in West Africa!

Our team is traveling to Devon and Cardiff in early July to deliver in-person professional development events. We’re grateful to Mount Kelly and St John’s College Cardiff for hosting these events with us and welcoming educators from their regions to join us.

We're celebrating our second anniversary at GFF and have put together this year's impact report for you. As new opportunities and challenges emerge with AI evolving so rapidly, we're grateful that you're part of this journey with us to shape AI's role in education.

Since DfE published the Generative AI Product Safety Standards in January, we've heard many misconceptions and myths about the role schools play in AI deployment. We've therefore set out to bust these myths and share practical steps that schools should start working on now.

We recently commissioned an independent impact evaluation to understand how well we're serving schools through the AI Quality Mark. The findings have been both humbling and encouraging, and helped us see where we can continue to grow alongside the schools we support.

In collaboration with Queen Ethelburga's Collegiate, our brilliant Student Council has been planning for months to launch an initiative celebrating best practices of responsible AI use among students.

What an incredible debut for Good Future Foundation at BETT. We are bringing AI professional development opportunities to teachers across various regions.

Being the first-in person AI professional development event of the new year, we had every hope that the day would be an exceptional one, but the teachers at KEVI exceeded all expectations.

It was a privilege to join the whole-school INSET of RGS High Wycombe and work with operational and academic staff who were willing to question, challenge and explore what AI really means for teaching and learning.We shared practical sessions on demystifying AI, automation, classroom use cases and the growing role of custom AI assistants.

After a year-long partnership with Educate Ventures Research bringing in-person AI professional development to different areas across the UK, we're excited to strengthen our collaboration through the Shape the Future Coalition—a strategic initiative founded by Professor Rose Luckin.

We're excited to announce an upcoming collaborative workshop in Seoul, South Korea, on 5th November, where we'll be connecting with 80 local educators to explore what responsible AI use looks like in schools!

20-24 Oct was a special week for the Good Future Foundation as we had the opportunity to take our AI professional development workshops outside the UK for the very first time. We truly enjoyed a great week of collaboration and learning with our partners and educators in Ghana!

Over the summer, Good Future Foundation held its first residential AI Summer Programme in partnership with The National Mathematics and Science College. On March 14, 2025, educators from 30 schools across Stoke-on-Trent gathered at Belgrave St. Bartholomew’s Academy to explore innovative applications of artificial intelligence in education. We were delighted to have Allison Gardner, MP for Stoke-on-Trent South, join us at the event and emphasised AI as a "generational opportunity" for schools in the region. This event was featured by BBC News, highlighting its importance for the educational landscape.
