Our work with the Collective Intelligence Consortium
On 16th October, Good Future Foundation took part in an important moment for the Collective Intelligence. This a consortium we are proud to be part of alongside Educate Ventures Research, Cambridge OCR and Oasis Big Education Institute.

At the recent Cambridge AI Education Summit, Prof Rose Luckin CBE, Jane Mann, Ali Gellett and our Executive Director joined a discussion panel to talk about how the consortium is working to find collaborative common ground in what has become an increasingly polarised conversation about AI use. The discussion focused on how different players including teachers, school leaders, researchers and policymakers can work together and leverage human intelligence to harness AI in education.
The panel also marked the publication of a new report:
Human Intelligence First: The Tool is the Smallest Part
, produced by Educate Ventures Research through the Shape the Future Leaders Coalition. The report reveals findings from nine practitioner-led action research projects across schools in England, covering feedback, assessment, pupil agency and teacher workload. What comes through clearly is how much depends on teaching routines and careful implementation rather than the tools themselves.
Our involvement in this work comes from a belief that schools need evidence built on the ground, by the people closest to pupils. We also know that AI’s benefits will not reach all schools equally, and that the communities with the least capacity to adopt new technologies are often those who stand to gain the most. We hope this report helps every school, wherever they are starting from, make more confident and grounded decisions about AI.
