A Conference Built Differently

Do these questions sound familiar to you? Join us at the Good Future Conference to tackle these hard but critical questions about AI in schools together.

  • Who gets to decide what AI should and should not do in schools?
  • Does AI increase independence and participation, or reduce human interaction?
  • Why do we need teachers when students can get the information they need from AI?
  • If teachers can use AI for lesson planning, why can't students use it for their homework?
  • Does AI really save time?
  • How do we ensure that our parent community is onboard with our AI policy?

What’s the plan for the 3 days?

This global gathering will be taking place in London from 3rd - 5th March 2027. It will be highly curated with a focus on emergent practices in the AI and digital space. We are bringing together educators and experts from various countries to share their stories about using AI in (and outside) the classroom. Schools, teachers, and students are welcome.

Here is a breakdown of the days.

3 March, 2027
Student Hackathons, AI Quality Mark Gold School Visits, and Welcome Reception

Three Student Hackathons

Lime Wood Primary (Erith), Haileybury (Hertford), Thames Park (North Grays)

The Good Future Conference 2027 kicks off with students in the driving seat. Delegates engage directly with learner-led innovation through school immersions and a live Hackathon which is designed to surface how young people are shaping and challenging AI use. The questions students ask, the ideas they generate, and the tensions they surface are ones we will carry into Days 2 and 3 where educators will continue to grapple with.

All hackathons are free to enter and open to students of all backgrounds and experience levels. Schools can now sign up on behalf of their students. Entries close Friday 27 November 2026.

‍Click here for more information about the student hackathon.

AI Quality Mark Gold School Visit

Lime Wood Primary (Erith), Haileybury (Hertford), Thames Park (North Grays)

Two of the hackathons are hosted by our AI Quality Mark Gold schools, Haileybury and Lime Wood Primary School. You’ll have the opportunity to meet and talk to their staff and see responsible AI in action firsthand.

‍Haileybury is an independent boarding and day school in Hertfordshire. Awarded Gold in November 2025, the assessor recognised Haileybury as a school where AI is not treated as an isolated innovation, but woven deliberately into curriculum, pedagogy, ethics and digital citizenship. Students at Haileybury engage with AI in ways that go beyond tool use. The school emphasises a model of research-driven and values-led AI education.

Lime Wood Primary School is one of five schools within Woodland Academy Trust — GFF's first AI Quality Mark recipient, awarded Silver in October 2024 and Gold in June 2025. Over the past two years, the Trust has embedded AI across both teaching and operations, developing a trust-wide strategy that has deepened thinking on staff development, data governance, and ethical use which shifted the culture from early adoption to collective confidence.

Evening Reception

Piano Works (Covent Garden)

Day 1 wraps up with an evening reception with drinks, food, and live music and DJ Ravee Chagger at The Piano Works at Covent Garden.

Leonardo Royal Hotel St Paul's, London

Workshops, Policy Clinics, Roundtables and the Unconference Hours
‍
Attendees can choose among a series of practitioner-led workshops facilitated by our AI Quality Mark Assessors and experienced educators who have worked across schools of every type and setting, and know first-hand how different communities are experimenting with AI.

There are also AI policy clinics, keynotes and roundtables. Our ‘unconference hour’ is a responsive agenda shaped by the conference attendees to interrogate critical issues in the AI and digital arena.

‍Student Lightning Talk
‍
Throughout the day, you will hear from students sharing their sharpest perspectives in the room, and they will challenge you to see AI in education through entirely different eyes.

Gala Dinner and Schools Award Ceremony
‍
After a full conference day, there will be a break in proceedings before reconvening for a Gala Dinner to hand out some new GFF Awards, hear from the students who competed in the Hackathon and two high profile keynotes.

Jade Bowler, widely known by her YouTube handle Unjaded Jade, is an educator, author, and digital creator who has spent years helping young people to learn better and advocating on education transformation. Jade closes Day 2 with a keynote that puts the learner back at the heart of the conversation.

While enjoying the 3-course meal at the Gala Dinner, awards are presented to celebrate the schools, leaders and educators who are celebrating the schools and educators leading the way on responsible AI in education. This is a moment of recognition for the people quietly doing the hard work and doing it well.

5 March, 2027

Arboretum Lounge, London (behind the National Portrait Gallery)

Keynotes

‍
DfE joins us on Day 3 to share the policy perspective including the government’s GenAI product safety standards for schools. This is a rare opportunity to hear directly from the people shaping national policy and ask the questions your school is sitting with.

Insight to Action

Day 3 is a focused half day to move from insight to action, with brunch, keynotes and workshops on scaling AI responsibly in your school. Among those contributing is Lord Jim Knight, Chair of Trustees at Good Future Foundation and former UK Schools Minister, who has long argued that the rise of AI makes human qualities more important, not less.

We will also be joined by a high-profile panel of recruiters and decision-makers from the tech industry to explore what AI means for the future of work and what that means for the young people we are educating today.
